Construction Update

Construction on the West Village Commons, West Village Housing, Site and Safety, and College of Liberal Arts projects continues to progress. Detailed updates and upcoming milestones for each project are listed below. For additional information on campus construction, go to {www.towson.edu/currentconstruction}. College of Liberal Arts ? Phase II
Opening August 2011
? The exterior landscaping surrounding the building is complete.
? The ceiling of the building?s easternmost atrium is complete. The atrium?s flooring will be installed this November.
? In the center portion of the building, flooring installation is complete and lighting installation is nearly complete. Doors and hardware are being installed in this area of the building.
? The installation of flooring is complete in the corridors of easternmost portion of the building.
? Sod will be installed on the eastern half of the quad (nearest Dowell Health Center) in the coming weeks.

West Village Commons
Opening August 2011
? The building?s interiors are being painted.
? The installation of ceiling grids is continuing throughout the building.
? Sprinkler systems, cables and wires, and kitchen equipment and hoods are being installed in the building.
? Wall tiling is underway on levels one and four of the building.

West Village Garage
Opening August 2011
? Site work for the project continues west of Towson Run Apartments.
? The garage?s concrete foundations are being installed.
? Underground utilities are being installed to support the garage.
? Precast (concrete framing) components are in fabrication and expected to be delivered early January 2011.

West Village Housing Phase II ? Douglass and Barton Houses
Opening August 2011
? Exterior brickwork continues to be installed on both buildings.
? HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work continues inside the buildings.
? Painting, wood flooring and window trimming has begun on the buildings? interiors.
? Door frames and doors are being installed inside the buildings.
