Construction on the West Village Commons, West Village Housing, Site and Safety, and College of Liberal Arts projects continues to progress. Campus Site and Safety
? The new Lecture Hall entrance is complete and the Lecture Hall Plaza is fully functional.
? Work on the temporary roads around University Avenue is complete. University Avenue is currently open for use.
College of Liberal Arts ? Phase II
? The new accessible route from the campus Power Plant to the temporary CLA entrance is complete and open for use.
? Another accessible route is now available along University Avenue from the west end of the CLA building to Linthicum Drive near Dowell Health Center. Additional work will occur near the area but the pedestrian path will be maintained throughout.
? The accessible route from University Avenue to Linthicum is now open.
? The future lawn area between the CLA building and Dowell Health Center will be used for construction through the fall semester.
? The pedestrian bridge from Towsontown Garage is open for use, though minor work will continue in the area throughout the semester.
? A temporary corridor has been constructed through the CLA gallery near the Towsontown pedestrian bridge in order to provide more convenient access to the academic core.
? Exterior planting adjacent to the building is scheduled to begin in mid-September.
West Village Commons
? Installation of the building?s exterior metal wall panels is nearly complete.
? Drywall and finishing work has begun on the interior of the building.
? Lay-in ceiling grids (which will serve as anchors for the building?s ceiling tiles) are being installed.
? Air conditioning equipment is being installed on the building?s rooftop.
? The plumbing and electric supply for the building’s food service equipment is being installed.
West Village Garage
? Construction fencing and work trailers have been placed on-site.
? Excavation and earthwork has begun.
? Pre-cast sample panels (which will be used for the basic structure of the garage) are in the process of fabrication.
West Village Housing Phase II
? Interior wood framing, plumbing, electrical, fire sprinkler, and heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) work is continuing.
? Brick masonry work is being performed on the exterior of the buildings.
? Windows are being installed throughout the buildings.
