Campus Site and Safety
? The Grand Staircase between Hawkins Hall and the Psychology Building is complete. To see a photo of the project, go to {www.towson.edu/currentconstruction}.
? The new entrance to the Lecture Hall is complete. The new plaza surrounding the building is on schedule to open Wednesday, August 25.
? The new entrance roads to Towsontown Garage and the temporary road at University Avenue are on schedule to open Monday, August 23. BGE power poles will be relocated from the south side to the north side of Towsontown Boulevard beginning in early September.
College of Liberal Arts ? Phase II
The following work related to phase II of the College of Liberal Arts project will be done Monday, August 23:
? University Avenue will open for traffic at 6 a.m.
? The east/west walkway on the south side of CLA will be open.
? The pedestrian bridge will be complete and open for use. Permanent lighting will not be complete but existing lighting will remain in use.
? The landscaped area at the northwest corner of the building will be mulched, the temporary asphalt walk will be removed, and the planting area will be cordoned off.
? An asphalt ramp will be installed for emergency vehicle access at the east end of the main pedestrian walkway bordering the back of the CLA building.
? Fall planting will take place toward the latter part of September on the areas surrounding the building as well as the island along University Avenue.
West Village Commons
? Windows on the east elevation of the building are complete.
? The building?s interior and exterior wall framing are complete. Metal wall panels have been installed on the building?s north elevation and continue to be installed on the west elevation.
? The main electrical power to the building has been connected.
? Drywall walls have been installed on level three of the building.
? Elevator installation is halfway complete.
West Village Garage
? Fencing has been placed around the construction site and staging area in what was formerly lot 22.
? Earthwork in the area will begin this week.
West Village Housing Phase II
? Roof framing and waterproofing is complete on both buildings.
? The installation of wood stud walls, doors and window frames is underway throughout both buildings.
? The ductwork, piping and wiring for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems are being installed.
? Brickwork is proceeding on the stair towers of both buildings.
