SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK
Word 2003/ 2007 – Shortcut to Spell Check and Thesaurus
The slow way to spell check a word is to highlight it and select the Spelling & Grammar icon under the Review tab on the Word 2007 ribbon (in Word 2003, this can be done by selecting the Spelling & Grammar icon on the standard toolbar). A faster way to ensure words are spelled properly is to use spell check as you type. Whenever you see those red squiggly lines under a misspelled word, right click and choose from the suggested words that will appear at the top of the menu.
Similarly, the slow way to find a synonym is to highlight a word and select the Thesaurus button under the Review tab on the ribbon (in Word 2003, click Tools/Language/Thesaurus). A faster way is to right click on a word, select Synonyms and slide over to select your word.
