CORRECTION: OTS Downtime Information ? Monday Service Outages

The following announcement was posted from Tuesday, January 18 until Thursday, January 20 with the headline “Downtime Information for OTS’s Sunday Maintenance Window.” We want to be clear that the downtime will affect the campus on Monday, January 24.

System maintenance will be performed from 4 a.m. until 8 a.m. Monday, January 24 in order for an electrical upgrade to be performed for the Cook Data Center. Due to the type of maintenance being performed, the entire Cook Data Center will be without power resulting in all network and computing services to the campus being unavailable.

Services that will be offline:

All network and computing systems hosted from the Cook Data Center will be unavailable, including but not limited to the following:

? Faculty/staff e-mail
? Student e-mail
? Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and Financials
? Blackboard
? Campus website
? Inside.towson.edu
? Network connectivity to buildings
? Access to the internet from campus
? Access to Towson services from the internet
? All hosted systems in the Cook Data Center

When maintenance is complete, a post will be made on the OTS alerts website, {http://alerts.towson.edu}. Keep in mind that due to the nature of the maintenance, this website will not be available during the maintenance.

As a reminder, the Office of Technology Services? maintenance window is every Sunday from 6 a.m. to noon. Because of the scope of this project, an alternate maintenance window was chosen to limit the impact to campus. Faculty and users are advised to keep this maintenance window in mind when planning events, assignments and deadlines.
