Software Tip of the Week
Microsoft Excel: Displaying Text Vertically or Diagonally in Cells
Text in Excel is displayed horizontally by default, but the orientation of text can also be displayed vertically or diagonally. You can save space and make your tables easier to read by displaying your heading text vertically or diagonally.
To Display Text Vertically or Diagonally in Cells:
1. Select the desired cell or cell range
2. Select Format > Cells from the menu bar.
3. In the Format Cells dialog box, select to the Alignment tab.
4. Under Orientation, on the right side of the Alignment tab, select the desired orientation or degree of orientation.
5. When ready, click OK.
