The Love Triangle: Songs & Letters of Robert and Clara Schumann & Johannes Brahms

Center for the Arts Recital Hall
Sunday, February 13, 3 p.m.

A performance of Robert Schumann?s most famous song cycle Dichterliebe (Poet?s Love) is the centerpiece of this recital which also features songs composed by Schumann?s wife, Clara and their close friend Johannes Brahms. The turbulent relationship of Robert and Clara Schumann and their close friend Johannes Brahms is of particular interest since their letters to each other reveal what may have been more than plutonic friendship. Correspondences of all three artists will serve to interconnect their songs and give voice to their personalities beyond their music.

Tickets: $14 general admission; $10 seniors; $7 students
