Congratulations to the Towson University Women?s Swimming and Diving team for being recognized as an Academic All-America team for the 2007-08 season!
To be considered for Academic All-America status by the CSCAA, a team must have a total grade point average at 3.00 or higher on a 4.00 scale for the respective semester. This truly is a competitive and challenging goal.
The Tigers, who recorded a team grade point average of 3.353 through the Spring, 2008 semester, were one of 81 Division I women?s teams to be recognized and reflect Towson University?s commitment to quality in and out of the pool. We are especially proud that Towson had the top GPA of any women?s swim team in the CAA and any team in the state of Maryland.
The Tiger Swimming and Diving team has demonstrated that it is a great representative for Towson athletics. We are proud of this great achievement by the student-athletes, Coach Mead and his staff of assistant coaches, and Bobbi Madison and her staff. This truly characterizes excellence in both scholarship and athletics.
Sincerely,
James P. Clements, Ph.D.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
