Led by a strong effort from sophomore Caroline Baker, the Tiger women’s swimming and diving team opened the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships in third place after the opening session on Wednesday evening. James Madison leads the standings with 60 points while George Mason follows with 35 points.
The Tigers are in third place with 24 points followed by UNC Wilmington, Delaware and Northeastern.
Baker finished fourth in the three-meter diving event by scoring 291.80 points in the finals while sophomore Lauren Ray placed ninth by scoring 263.75 points.
The CAA Championship continues on Thursday morning with the first full day of competition. The preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. at the McKay Natatorium while the finals will take place at 6 p.m.
