The Towson Center will be a busy place on Thursday, December 10 as the Tigers host Maryland in women?s basketball action. Not only will the action be taking place on the court but there will be plenty going on off the court as well.
The Tigers and Terps will be meeting for the 15h time in the all-time series, which the Terps lead 10-4. It is the first meeting between the two schools since February 2006 and the first time the former national champions will visit the Towson Center since February 2005. Thursday night?s game is also Maryland?s only trip to the Baltimore area this season.
Towson will be participating in the NCAA?s ?Pack the House? initiative on Thursday evening. The program challenges schools to try and set their single-game attendance record during the game. The Tigers set their current attendance mark last year against VCU (1,268). The first two hundred fans will receive a ?Pack the House? t-shirt. Also on Thursday, the Tigers will host an alumni reception from 5-7 in the Minnegan Room (please contact ssowers@towson.edu for more details).
The athletic department has partnered with the SGA to host ?Trade in Your Terps Gear? at the game. All students and fans who bring a clothing item with the Maryland logo on it will be able to get a Towson basketball t-shirt. Members of the Greek sororities and fraternities on campus will be in attendance at the game as part of the Battle of the Greeks night.
As with any women?s game this year, tickets for groups of 15 or more are just $2. Thursday?s action is also part of the women?s basketball mini-ticket plan. Fans that purchase the plan get tickets for the Maryland game in addition to the January 14 game with James Madison, February 4 against defending CAA Champion Drexel and February 28 versus Delaware.
