During this weekend of the Delaware – Towson Homecoming football game, October 16-17, student-athletes from both schools are taking part in the 4th annual Pig Skin Pass.
The event is a 58 mile relay run from Delaware stadium to Unitas Stadium where athletes from both schools deliver a commemorative game ball prior to the 3:30pm kick off on Saturday, October 17th. The winner of the football game will receive the traveling Pigskin Pass Trophy!
The Pigskin Pass raises money and awareness for Special Olympics programs in Maryland and Delaware. Over 300 Towson and Delaware student-athletes participated in the run last year and raised over $22,000.
This exciting event initiated and organized by Student-Athletes at TU and UD is sponsored by the Towson and Delaware Athletic Departments, the Special Olympics Organizations, Law Enforcement in both states, Towson Auxiliary Services, Dillon?s Bus Charters, and this year?s Premier Sponsor: Care First of Maryland.
