WORDS, SOUNDS, STORIES: The Towson Literary Reading Series Debuts for Fall 2008!

The Towson Literary Reading Series presents its fall schedule, starting Wed., Oct. 8, at 5 p.m. in the Towson Room of the Cook Library. The series kicks off with readings by poet Carol Quinn and essayist Andrew Reiner.

Carol Quinn received her doctorate from the Creative Writing Program at the University of Houston, where she was the recipient of C. Glenn Cambor and Donald Barthelme Fellowships in Creative Writing. Her poetry has appeared in Pleiades, River Styx, The Cincinnati Review, Colorado Review, The American Literary Review, The National Poetry Review, and elsewhere. Her essays and reviews have appeared in The Emily Dickinson Journal, the American Book Review, The Missouri Review, and other journals. This is her fourth year as a lecturer at Towson.

Andrew Reiner teaches courses for Towson’s Department of English and for the Honors College. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing & Literature from the Bennington Writing Seminars at Bennington College, and he earned an M.S. from the Professional Writing program at Towson. He was a contributing writer for Baltimore magazine and the Baltimore City Paper and his short essays have appreared in the English journal and the Baltimore Sun. His area of interests include the personal essay and memoir, as well as young adult fiction.
