SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK

PowerPoint 2007 Playing a You Tube Video in a Presentation

1. Bring up You Tube in your browser ? {www.youtube.com.}
2. Search for and launch the video you wish to show in You Tube.
3. Copy the URL in the address bar. (Select the URL, right click and select Copy)
4. Open PowerPoint.
5. Create a blank slide.
6. Click the Developer tab on the ribbon.
7. Click the More Controls button (looks like a hammer & wrench).
8. Scroll to and click Shockwave Flash Object.
9. Click OK.
10. Your mouse will turn into a plus sign.
11. Drag out a box as large as you wish the movie to appear in the slideshow.
12. Right click on the box which will appear with a large X through it.
13. Click Properties
14. The Properties dialog box will appear. Click beside Movie.
15. Paste the URL in this area (right click and click Paste)
16. Revise the URL by deleting watch?.
17. Replace the = beside the v with a / (For example: {http://www.youtube.com/v/mbfOHJqtrcE})
18. Close the Properties box.
19. Run the slide show.
20. Click the You Tube video.
