SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK

Word 2007 AutoFormat As You Type

The AutoFormat As You Type feature is a shortcut that automatically changes certain combinations of keystrokes into predefined words or formatting marks. For example, when you misspell common words, such as ?teh? instead of ?the,? Word will change the word for you automatically. As another example, when you type three or more equal signs and click Enter, Word will insert a double line.

If you want to undo any one of these AutoFormats after they occur, simply hold the Ctrl key and click the ?Z? key.

Alternately, when Word 2007 uses AutoFormat, you can hover over the changed text and a blue rectangle should appear below that text or a button with a lightning bolt will appears to the left of the text. Click either the blue bar or the lightning bolt button and choose the Undo option.
