The Multicultural Institute call for abstracts for Twelfth Annual Towson University Multicultural Conference to be held on Wednesday,
March 8, 2006; 8:00a.m. to 5:00 p.m at University Union. This year’s theme is Multicultural Communities, Families, and Education.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
*Changing landscapes of Global Communication and Economics.
*Promoting Multicultural Competence in classroom and work force.
*Enhancing multiculturalism in Higher Education, and the benefits of
multiculturalism in academia. *Language as an avenue for promoting multicultural awareness in primary, secondary, and post-secondary education. *The World is Flat! Globalization; what it means to countries, companies, communities, and individuals. Leveling the playing field through multiculturalism. *Cultural realities affecting communities, families and educators. *Multiculturalism,
Study Abroad, and the experience of cultural otherness.
Please submit an abstract of 200-300 words describing your presentation to: sheaney@towson.edu. Abstracts are accepted until the deadline of January 5th, 2006. Please remove the names of all authors and institutions from the paper but include them separately in the same e-mail. Papers should be submitted in Microsoft Word format. We will e-mail you with a notification of acceptance or rejection within three weeks. If your manuscript is accepted, you will receive a letter of acceptance, registration form, and paper style guidelines by regular mail.
