On Tuesday, November 29, Pulitzer Prize-winner and best-selling author David Maraniss will be on campus to speak about his latest book “They Marched Into Sunlight: War and Peace, Vietnam and America, October 1967.” In They Marched Into Sunlight, Maraniss explores the challenges of the war both “on the ground” and at home. In October 1967, the Black Lions, a U.S. Army battalion, faced a devastating ambush. At the same time, war protestors at the University of Wisconsin objected to Dow Chemical’s efforts to recruit on campus, leading to clashes among students, administrators, and the Madison police. Maraniss’s talk will be in Chesapeake II of the University Union at 7 p.m. The event is free, but seating is limited. For more information, contact Tracy Miller x43583; {tmiller@towson.edu} or Kelly Gray x42917; {egray@towson.edu}.
