Ron Shapiro, attorney and author of The Power of Nice: How to Negotiate So Everyone Wins, will present ?Ethical Decisions in a Hyper-Competitive World: Making Sense of Life?s Daily Dilemmas? on Tuesday, April 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Towson University Union?s Potomac Lounge. The program is the inaugural public event for The College of Business and Economics Center for Applied Business and Economic Research (CABER).
Shapiro, founder of Shapiro Sher Guinot & Sandler also established the Shapiro Negotiations Institute, a negotiations seminar and consulting firm that has trained more than 100,000 professionals in the art of negotiation, dealing with difficult personalities, and enhancing listening skills. USA Today noted him as ?one of baseball?s most respected agent-attorneys? and Sporting News named Shapiro as one of the ?100 most powerful people in sports.? His extensive list of clients include Cal Ripken Jr., Jim Palmer, Brooks Robinson, Eddie Murray and Jon Miller, all of whom have benefited from more than $1 billion in contracts that Shapiro has negotiated.
Joe Ehrmann, former National Football League player on teams including the Baltimore Colts and Detroit Lions, will introduce Shapiro.
The CBE Center for Applied Business Economic Research, (CABER) was created to leverage the resources of CBE in a coordinated effort to support the educational, developmental, strategic, and information needs of local organizations. CABER will foster continuing education, intellectual partnerships, research, analysis and consulting projects which capitalize on the energy and abilities of CBE faculty, staff, students and alumni.
