In order to provide a safer pedestrian environment and prevent damage to campus walkways and structures, this serves as a reminder that the university has operational standards intended to limit vehicular traffic on pedestrian walkways in the academic core of campus.
Please review the accompanying standards and delivery route map at {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/facilities/material/deliveries.asp}
All departments are advised to work closely with service providers, including planners, project managers, movers, contractors, vendors, etc. to carefully plan any projects that might require the use of standard gas-powered vehicles in close proximity to buildings, especially those buildings that lack loading areas, such as Hawkins Hall, Psychology Building, Lecture Hall and Linthicum Hall. Projects that require the use of standard vehicles on walkways should always be planned for non-peak periods of summer, winter break and spring break.
Material Management serves as the official coordinating office for future accessibility issues regarding major, large deliveries to the academic core. Service projects will be coordinated by Facilities Management.
For questions about the new standards, please contact Phil Butler, Director of Materiel Management, at 410-704-2479.
