Maryland’s senior Senator, Paul Sarbanes, will speak on the topic “Civic Engagement: Why Your Participation Matters” on Monday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. in the Potomac Room of the University Union. The talk will be preceded by a reception at 7:00 p.m. The talk and reception are free and open to the public. Senator Sarbanes has represented Maryland for over 30 years – first as a Congressman and since 1977 as Senator. He is the ranking member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs. He will discuss the values of promoting broad, inclusive and direct participation in the search for the public good.
