The Women’s Studies Department is sponsoring a Spring colloquium entitled: ?City (ies) of God?: Problems and Solutions to Urban Poverty and Homelessness in Brazil. During the colloquium, Dr. Cecilia Rio will talk about her recent travels to Brazil, including a visit to a favela outside of Rio (where they filmed the movie, City of God) and a MST (Movimento des Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra) camp outside of Sao Paulo. The event will be held Wednesday, April 7, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Linthicum Room 108.
