The Colonial Athletic Association Presidents have challenged its 10 Conference schools to compete each year for the greatest number of blood donors in a campus wide blood drive. The Department of Athletics, in cooperation with Towson’s Red Cross Corps, has selected Monday, November 3, 2003 as the CAA Blood Challenge Day. It coincides with the National Save-A-Life Tour effort to get desperately needed blood on the Red Cross shelves here in Maryland. The donation site will be the Chesapeake Rooms, University Union 3rd floor, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Students, faculty and staff are urged to pre-register on the ground floor of the University Union on October 27 and October 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to avoid the wait on blood drive day. Interested persons may also pre-register with Gail Price, by calling 410-704-6017, or by e-mailing her at gprice@towson.edu. Walk-ins will be welcome on November 3rd. There will also be an opportunity to tour the Red Cross Mobile Museum which will be located in front of the Union adjacent to Burdick Field. The University of Delaware was the winner of the CAA Blood Challenge in 2002 with 374 attempted donors and 262 units of blood collected. We never like to lose to Delaware! Please help us win and save lives at the same time!
