Cultural Kaleidoscope, in cooperation with the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the African American Cultural Center, will present Four Score and More: Featuring Poets Alvin Aubert, Naomi Long-Madgett, Mari Evans and Lorenzo Thomas.
“To be the vanguard or avant-garde is to be an incursion into old space and accepted ideas, Aubert, Evans, Long-Madgett and Thomas represent a generation of poetic innovation that forced a nation’s perceptual adjustment of Black Literature to take a more visionary phenomenological approach to reading the Black Poet.” [Chezia Thompson-Cager, Professor, Maryland Institute College of Art]
Join us in welcoming these distinguished scholars, authors and poets to our campus where they will talk about their writing and “yours.”
WHEN: FRIDAY, APRIL 2, 2004 — 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: African American Cultural Center, University Union – Room 317
