Light the Night and the Lives of People Suffering from Blood-Related Cancers

WHAT: “Light the Night Walk,” The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual
evening walk to celebrate and commemorate lives touched by blood-
related cancers. Each fall teams of friends, families, and
co-workers gather all over America to walk in the twilight
holding illuminated balloons: white for survivors, red for
supporters. The walk includes, music, food and activities.

WHERE: Burdick Field. The walk starts here and proceeds around and
through parts of the campus. The more lighted balloons there
are, the more impressive the spectacle & the support will be.

WHEN: Friday, October 21, 6 p.m.

Form a team or come as an individual. Many student clubs and
Greek organizations are walking or working the event. Join
them. Donations start at $25. Build a group and bring more
dollars to research the cure and care for the many touched by
these diseases. Four members of the Towson University family
were afflicted in the past year and a half by blood-related
cancers. One died of Leukemia, but three have lived thanks
to the current state of research and care supported by fund-
raising.

Show that TU cares.
