System maintenance will be performed this weekend from 6:00 a.m. Sunday morning until 12 noon Sunday, March 18, in order to perform system maintenance.
Details are as follows:
6:00 a.m. – Peoplesoft and Blackboard will become unavailable
Roughly 200 servers hosted in the Cook Data Center will be offline. See partial list below.
10:00 a.m. – Target completion time for BlackBoard and PeopleSoft restoration
Noon – Target completion time when all services will be restored to campus
Services that will be offline:
All other network and computing systems hosted from the Cook Data Center including, but not limited to, the following:
? Faculty/staff email
? Student email
? Peoplesoft Campus Solutions and Financials
? Blackboard
? Campus website
? Inside.towson.edu
? Access to many Towson services from the Internet
? Most systems hosted in the Cook Data Center
When maintenance has been completed, a post will be made to the OTS alerts website, {http://alerts.towson.edu}. (Keep in mind that due to the nature of the maintenance, this website will not be available during the maintenance)
As a reminder, the Office of Technology Services maintenance window is every Sunday from 6 a.m. to noon. However, this alternate maintenance window was chosen to limit the impact to campus due to the extreme number of services that will be unavailable during the maintenance.
Faculty and users are advised to keep this maintenance window in mind when planning events, assignments and deadlines.
If you have any questions about the outage, please contact the OTS Operations Center at 410-704-2438.
