To All Faculty, Staff and Students:
Over the past year I have set goals and objectives to restructure and combine the units that constituted Computing and Network Services (CANS) and the Center for Instructional Advancement and Technology (CIAT) to form a single, cohesive department. The resulting reorganization is based on over a year in planning, as well as in direct response to the findings of a task force, set forth to determine the technology support needs of TU?s faculty, staff, and students.
The reorganization aims to ensure that our technology strategy is focused on a reliable and secure network, support for core technologies across the university, and better and more direct services to the campus using a distributed model of support. Our new name, the Office of Technology Services, reflects these service-oriented goals.
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) includes three functional units. Please go to {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/ots/orgchart.pdf} for detailed OTS organizational charts and functional descriptions of each unit. Each operating unit?s main responsibilities are also listed below.
