Police Community Relations Meeting, Wednesday

The Towson University Police Department (TUPD) will hold its monthly Police Community Relations (PCR) meeting on Wednesday, April 6 at 1:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in room 315 on the third floor of the University Union. The meeting usually lasts for approximately one hour.

Seat Belt Safety Issues
The topic for this month?s meeting will be seat belt safety issues. The TUPD will be participating in the 2005 Maryland Chiefs? Challenge Campaign. TUPD will join forces with other law enforcement agencies throughout the state of Maryland in a unified effort to promote and increase the use of seat belts and child safety seats. During the campaign, TUPD Officers will conduct targeted enforcement aimed at increasing the use of seat belts and child safety seats. The objective of this campaign is to increase seat belt and child safety seat usage among non-users and part-time users. Attend the meeting to see videos promoting the use of safety belts and the consequences of riding in a vehicle unbuckled. Educational literature will also be available at the meeting.

The PCR Meeting is an open forum for students and faculty/staff members to discuss any security and safety concerns with the officers assigned to the Community Crime Reduction Unit of the Towson University Police Department. Light refreshments will be available at the meeting.
