In honor of Women’s History Month, throughout March the University System of Maryland Women?s Forum (USMWF) will be featuring affiliates of the USM and other topics of interest to highlight the ever increasing roles women play, as well as their contributions.
Did you know the new student representative to the USM Board of Regents is a woman? Sarah Elfreth, a Towson University junior, is currently the director of legislative affairs for the TU Student Government Association. She will take over the one-year term from current student regent Josh Michaels of UMBC. Each USM institution is eligible to send one candidate, and the Governor selects who will fulfill the role of student regent. The 17-member Board of Regents governs the USM, and oversees the System’s academic, administrative, and financial operations. Congratulations Sarah!
