How Would You Design Tomorrow’s Towson?

Citizen leaders of the town of Towson have given birth to a new nonprofit organization ? Tomorrow?s Towson, Inc.? dedicated to creating a new vision for the County seat. The group?s mission statement reads: ?Working together to create and implement a vision for Tomorrow?s Towson.?

The organization will host an Urban Design Assistance Team (UDAT) from June 7 to June 13, 2006. The UDAT visit is the centerpiece of a community-driven planning process that involves a great deal of outreach to area residents and key stakeholders, including businesses and institutions. UDATs work directly with residents to learn about a community’s challenges and then devise a plan for land use solutions.

Please consider attending two meetings this month to learn new techniques for designing tomorrow’s Towson:

TODAY! Tuesday, April 4
– A lecture and Q&A on form-based codes–a new way to influence how Towson is built
– 7-9 p.m.
– Minnegan Room, Unitas Stadium

Wednesday, April 19
– A lecture and Q&A on calming traffic and walkable streets
– 7-9 p.m.
– Sheppard Pratt Conference Center

Mark your calendars for upcoming public forums on Thursday, May 4 at 7 p.m. at Towson High and Wednesday, June 7 at Towson University.
