Towson’s Music for the Stage ensemble explores the world of the Bard through music with staged excerpts from operatic and musical theatre masterworks based upon Shakespeare’s plays. Selections from Verdi’s Falstaff, Otto Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor, Gounod’s Romeo and Juliette, Cole Porter’s Kiss Me Kate and Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story are only a few of the shows in the program. Presented with a piano accompaniment. Stage and musical direction by Phillip Collister.
