New Summer Course for Education Graduate Students

A new course, ILPD 670 Special Topics: Mentoring in a Professional Learning Community (3 credits), will be available this summer 2010. The instructors will be Drs. Hana Bor and Richard Solomon. This course will be offered on June 24, 25, 28, 29 and 30 from: 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 pm in Hawkins Hall. Please contact Dr. Bor for exact room number.

Based on research, theory and best practices in mentoring and collaborative supervision, this practical course is designed to help veteran teachers, staff developers, current and future administrators, challenge and develop the capabilities of pre-service and in-service teachers within a professional learning community. Participants will experience and discuss these topics: The knowledge base for teaching and learning, learning to teach, and reflection. The clinical supervision model, techniques for observation and giving and receiving professional feedback
