Construction on the new campus gateway and utility work surrounding the College of Liberal Arts building will impact pedestrian and vehicular travel on campus throughout the spring semester. Details on campus construction impacts are available below. For up-to-date closures and pathways throughout the semester, go to the campus construction map at {www.towson.edu/constructionmap}.
College of Liberal Arts
Pedestrians traveling from the Towsontown Garage to the core campus can choose to walk around the site or walk through the CLA gallery directly across from the garage’s pedestrian bridge. Make sure to follow the direction of all posted signs and staff to avoid confusion.
The main pedestrian walkway south of the CLA building will remain open throughout the spring semester as utility work and construction on the campus gateway occurs nearby. There will be a temporary staircase on the western border of the walkway to lead students around gateway construction to the University Union.
University Union/Lot 9
A large portion of the areas surrounding the University Union will be blocked off during the spring and summer semesters in order to accommodate utility work and construction on the new campus gateway. Go to the campus construction map at {www.towson.edu/constructionmap} to see the exact locations of the closures. Temporary pedestrian walkways have been constructed to facilitate passage through the area.
Burdick Hall
A large portion of the areas surrounding Burdick Hall will be blocked off during the spring and summer semesters in order to accommodate utility work and construction on the new campus gateway. The entrance nearest the C.R.i.B. Fitness Center will be closed. Pedestrians will be directed to the University Avenue entrance and the side entrance near Schuerholz Field during construction. The construction map at {www.towson.edu/constructionmap} shows the specific pedestrian paths available for accessing Burdick Hall.
Hawkins Hall
A large portion of the areas between Hawkins Hall and phase I of the CLA building, and Hawkins Hall and the University Union, will be closed during the spring semester in order to accommodate utility work in the area. The main pedestrian walkway behind CLA will remain open. Recommended pedestrian routes in and around this area are available on the construction map at {www.towson.edu/constructionmap}.
