The Office of Civic Engagement is pleased to offer the following service-learning opportunities for faculty in the Spring semester.
1. Service-Learning Faculty Fellows Program
Proposals for 2011-2012 now being accepted!
This faculty cohort provides support for TU faculty interested in creating a new service-learning course or incorporating a significant service-learning component into an existing course. Selected Faculty Fellows are awarded a $1,000 stipend and meet on a monthly basis to develop and then implement service-learning courses. Proposals for the 2011- 2012 Faculty Fellows cohort are being accepted now through Friday, April 22. Selected faculty will be notified by Spring commencement. 2. Spring Service Fair
Wednesday, February 16, 11 AM- 1 PM, University Union, Potomac Lounge
Looking for a community partner to develop a service-learning partnership? Nearly 50 local nonprofits and government agencies will be present at the Spring Service Fair. Come and bring your class!
3. One-on-One Service-Learning Consultation
Faculty are encouraged to contact Katelyn Victor, AmeriCorps*VISTA Service-Learning Coordinator, for individualized assistance with course development, identifying community partners and service-learning project logistics.
