In response to the record-breaking student crowds at the Tigers’ home football games this season, the Towson University Department of Athletics is taking proactive measures to make sure that the best customer service possible is delivered to students for the two remaining home regular season games.
For the games on Oct. 29 vs. Delaware (7 p.m. kickoff on Comcast SportsNet TV) and on Nov. 12 vs. New Hampshire (3:30 p.m. kickoff), TU Athletics will activate a distribution plan for 4,500 student and student guest tickets that will allow for the convenience of pick-up prior to the game and online ticketing.
?Our student body has been tremendous in their support of Tiger Athletics this fall,? said Director of Athletics Mike Waddell. ?They have literally been the TEAM behind the TEAM during our four game home winning streak and our 5-1 start to the season. With our team in CAA contention, we need every student to plan on being at these final two home games so that we can make a statement that Towson is not only a team, but a CAMPUS to be reckoned with.?
Waddell adds that ?With the Delaware game we have a chance to show the Comcast television audience up and down the East Coast what Towson is all about. By selling out the ?U? in advance we can make this an overwhelming home field advantage for our Tigers and a lifelong memory for everyone who is a part of the game night atmosphere.?
Starting on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m., Towson students can pick up one of 3,000 student tickets to the Delaware-Towson football game tickets at the athletics ticket office located on the north concourse of Johnny Unitas? Stadium or at the University Union box office.
Students wishing to bring guests to the game will be able to purchase up to four guest tickets at $8 each until the allotment of 1,000 seats are sold out. Based on projected attendance, the department of athletics can increase the amount of guest tickets available.
Student and student guest seats guarantee admission to the game into the student seating sections where seating is general admission.
Students purchasing their ticket online for a $3 convenience fee will have the opportunity to claim your ticket immediately. Those online tickets then must be picked up no later than Friday at 4:30 p.m. the day before the game at either the University Union box office or the Towson Athletics Ticket Office in the north concourse at Johnny Unitas? Stadium.
Starting on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 10 a.m., tickets can be purchased online by going to the following web site: {https://oss.ticketmaster.com/html/outsider.htmI?CAMEFROM=FOOT1029&GOTO=https%3A%2F%2Foss.ticketmaster.com%2Fhtml%2Fpack_planlist.htmI%3Fl%3DEN%26team%3Dtowson%26selID%3D40}
For students that cannot make it to the ticket offices or go online before the first 4,000 tickets are distributed, the department of athletics will also hold 500 additional spots on a first-come, first-serve basis in the student seating section for release on game day (Oct. 29) with a valid student I.D. for Towson students. The 500 spot tickets will be distributed at Gate C of Johnny Unitas? Stadium starting at 5:30 p.m.
The same procedure will be used for the Tigers? home finale on Nov. 12 against New Hampshire.
