On Saturday, November 5, 2011 the second annual Towsonopoly Tournament & Gala will be held at the West Common Village at Towson University. This event will benefit The Electronic Finance Lab in the College of Business and Economics. The event runs from 5pm to midnight with a wealth of entertainment for all. The TOWSONOPOLY tournament is a custom Monopoly-style game that was created for this event. The tournament will consist of three 60-minute rounds, with cocktails, dinner, and desserts between rounds. In addition to the tournament, dinner and live music, a silent auction will share the spotlight to tempt attendees with an array of products and services.
The Electronic Finance Lab will replicate the functionality of Wall Street?s top trading firms, providing and advanced teaching and research environment. With the ability to value complex securities and investment opportunities in real time using the latest numerical algorithms, the lab will create an exciting learning environment that allows students, faculty and community members to experience the magic of money moving. The funds raised from this event will go towards the creation of the lab.
