Welcome Back! Click Here for Computing Resources at Your Fingertips!

Welcome back, knowledge-hungry masses! As you boot-up your computers for another semester of scholarly contemplation, don’t forget that Student Computing Services (SCS) stands ready to help.

SCS offers a triad of support services in a single, convenient location, Cook Library, room 35.

Need a quiet place to work?
The SCS Computer Lab (CK 35) is open every day to students of every major. The lab features dozens of networked computers and all the standard applications and hardware you need to get your work done. Although set up to support independent work, the lab is staffed by friendly TU students who are capable of orienting you to lab operations and answering general questions. Additional information is available at {http://www.towson.edu/~jack/lab/lab.html}.

Computer problems slowing you down?
The SCS Service Desk provides technical support and troubleshooting assistance if you?re experiencing problems with your account. It?s also the best place for advice on how to accomplish particular computing tasks. The Service Desk offers e-mail ({scs@towson.edu}), telephone (410-704-5151), and walk-in support (CK 35).

Need training or consulting?
The SCS Learning Center compliments the Lab and Service Desk by offering training and consulting services. Free SCS workshops cover most of the standard applications and systems used on campus and are open to all members of the TU community. If your needs exceed the workshops solution, SCS offers individualized consulting. To check out the fall 2004 workshop schedule, go to {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/adminfinance/ots/scs/workshops.asp}.

Want the big picture?
SCS? ?TechOverture? publication presents a detailed overview of Towson University?s computing systems and technology resources. You can find it on the Web by going to {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/adminfinance/ots/scs/publications.asp} and clicking on the TechOverture link.

Best of luck with your studies!
