Virus Alert ? Beware of e-Card Messages

There has recently been an increase in the number of bogus e-card messages sent to campus e-mails. These spam messages invite recipients to view an online greeting card with subjects such as ?You?ve received a postcard from a family member? or ?View your new e-card?. The content of the email will provide you with a link that you must click on to view the card.

Beware of these messages! They are being used by international hackers to place a virus on your computer that enables them to send mass amounts of harmful spam mail from your IP address. This will clog your hard drive and cause your computer to become very slow.

To prevent this virus from contaminating your computer, avoid opening e-mail from unknown senders or downloading programs from unknown sources. Also, beware of anything referencing the following sites, which have been linked to this virus:

{2007postcards.com}
{jokeonlineworld.com}
{practicaljokeonline.com}
{postcardsbargain.com}
{freewebpostcards.com}
{mailfreepostcards.com}
{ecolorpostcards.com }
