NetID account compromises can be caused by easy to answer security questions. Update yours today.
Security questions help verify your identity when you’ve forgotten your NetID password. Only you should know the answer to your security questions. The Office of Technology Services (OTS) has added new security question options over the past year, which are considered stronger by the Office of Information Security.
If your NetID password reset question contains an easily guessable answer or is one of the following questions, OTS’ Office of Information Security recommends that you update your question and answer as soon as possible:
- What is your mother’s maiden name?
- What is the name of the street on which you grew up?
Please review and reset your security question now by visiting www.towson.edu/netid and using the NetID tool “Set a New Security Question and Answer.”
If you have questions or need help with changing your security question and answer, submit a TechHelp service request or contact OTS at 410-704-5151.
