You are invited to join one of the wonderful choirs at TU: University Chorale, Women’s Chorus, Men’s Chorus and *Choral Society (no need to audition for this one). There is no need to be a music major, not even a music minor, to sing with us. You just need to have some previous choral experience and love for singing.
Auditions will take place during the first week of class:
- Tuesday August 28th
- Wednesday, August 29th
- Thursday, August 30th
- Friday, August 31st
Auditions will be held in Dr. Sáez’s office (CA 2099) and you can sign up for a time at the door. If you are a music major, prepare a song you know well that shows off your voice. If not, choose something with which you feel comfortable (a hymn, a folk song or your voice part from a choral piece).
The first rehearsals will take place the second week of classes.
- University Chorale meets Tuesday and Thursday from 2-3:15pm – MUSA 251/451/651.001
- Women’s Chorus meets Monday and Wednesday from 2-3:15pm – MUSA 252/452/652.001
- Men’s Chorus (Stephen Holmes, director) meets Monday and Wednesday from 2:00-3:15 p.m. – MUSA 252/452/652.002
- Choral Society (non-auditioned) – Monday from 7-9:40pm – MUSA 151/351/651.101
The performance for the TU Chorale, Women’s and Men’s Choirs will be on Sunday, December 2nd at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, December 2nd at 7:30 p.m. for The TU Choral Society.
The repertoire will be challenging, diverse and fun so we really hope you’ll consider joining and participating in any of the choirs this year.
*If you are not a student, and would still like to sing, consider joining the Choral Society. There is no need to audition and the whole community is welcome to participate.
