SECU Announces Awards for Towson University Live Case Challenge Competition

SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, is pleased to announce the following awards for the top three teams participating in the Towson University Live Case Challenge Competition:

  • First Place: $1500
  • Second Place: $1000
  • Third Place: $500

Business students from 11 sections of Strategic Management 481 are participating in the competition. For the semester-long project, students working in groups are tasked with evaluating the SECU business. Based on their research, students build solutions to the SECU challenge question: How can SECU build its brand awareness and leverage opportunities in the online financial sector?

SECU senior leadership attended a live Q&A session on campus in March with the students participating in the Challenge to answer any questions they had about SECU, the financial services industry, and credit union operations.

A total of 11 teams will present their Case Studies on April 20th in Stephens Hall, Room 310. SECU Executives will determine the winners of the competition, which will be announced that day.

As a member-owned credit union, SECU supports the communities we serve and offers financial literacy and awareness programs to help people understand their finances. We are proud of our ongoing relationship with Towson University, where we host campus Reality Fairs to help with budgeting after college, Case Study competitions, and the UMD system scholarship program. We look forward to the Case Study presentations and to hearing the ideas of the next great class of business leaders.
