National crime victims’ rights week

National Crime Victims’ Rights Week runs from 8 to 14 April, 2018. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is an annual observance to bring communities together and educate the public about victims’ rights, protections and services. It is also about recognizing organizations that have been fighting for victims’ rights for decades, forging new partnerships to address current problems and strengthening existing partnerships.

The Towson University Police Department along with other law enforcement agencies, and organizations across the country, are supporting victims’ rights and honoring crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf. The theme for NCVRW 2018 is “Expand the Circle: Reach All Victims,” which emphasizes the importance of inclusion in victim services.

We all play a role in serving victims. Our efforts cannot succeed without local law enforcement, victim advocates, prosecutors, probation and parole officers, child and family services, community leaders, community members, educators, coaches, parents and others.
