The Office of Public Safety will conduct a test of the university’s external (outdoor) voice emergency system at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27. The test should last no more than a few minutes. It will consist of multiple alert tones as well as messages that indicate this is only a test and the test is complete.
Members of the university community should be aware that this is only a test; no action is required unless a building’s internal fire alarm system is activated, you will need to evacuate if that occurs.
External voice emergency system tests are conducted on a monthly basis to ensure system functionality. Questions about the tests should be directed to Environmental Health & Safety at 4-2949.
As a reminder, please view the university’s Emergency Preparedness Training Video below. This information is important because it is useful in staying safe both on and off campus.
