Quickly Use Autofill in Excel
The autofill handle in Excel is a very powerful tool that can save you time. If you happen to be using autofill for a large number of cells, this keyboard shortcut can save you time wasted on clicking and dragging the handle.
To utilize the keyboard shortcut vertically in a column:
- Select the cells where you would like to apply the Autofill. You must include the cell where you have the formula.
- Press CTRL+D.
To utilize the keyboard shortcut horizontally in a row:
- Select the cells where you would like to apply the Autofill. You must include the cell where you have the formula.
- Press CTRL+R.
