TODAY – Tuesday, April 17, 4:00pm
College of Liberal Arts building, room 3118
Mr. Wolfe, a Towson University alumnus, retired in January 2018 after several decades of work with the state’s Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services. He will speak about his extensive experiences in corrections and within the Maryland prison system specifically. Prior to his retirement, he was the warden for Jessup Correctional Institution, a men’s maximum security facility located halfway between Baltimore and Washington, DC. JCI is an interesting facility as it has both a college degree program and factories that employ incarcerated laborers. In addition, since the closing of parts of the Baltimore City jail, it now serves as the temporary holding facility for those awaiting trial or serving sentences in Baltimore City. Please join us for an enlightening discussion about the current state and the future of incarceration in Maryland.
