OTS Training Tip of the Week
Easily Freeze Your Column Headers in Excel
If you are working with large sets of data in Excel, it can be easy to forget which column is which. Here’s a quick tool that will keep your column headers visible as you scroll through your data.
To freeze panes:
- Select the cell below and to the right of the cell or cells you wish to freeze. (Wherever your selected cell is sitting, the cells above and to the left will freeze)
- Click on the View tab in the ribbon.
- In the Window group, click on the Freeze Panes button.
- Click on Freeze Panes in the drop-down menu. Begin to scroll and notice the frozen cells stay.
To unfreeze panes:
- Click on the View tab in the ribbon.
- In the Window group, click on the Freeze Panes button.
- Click on Unfreeze Panes in the drop-down menu.
