The Office of Public Safety will conduct a test of the university’s external (outdoor) voice emergency system at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, November 29. The test should last no more than a few minutes. It will consist of multiple alert tones as well as messages that indicate this is only a test and the test is complete.
Members of the university community should be aware this is only a test; no action is required unless a building’s internal fire alarm system is activated, you will need to evacuate should that occur.
External voice emergency system tests are conducted on a monthly basis to ensure system functionality. Questions about the tests should be directed to Environmental Health & Safety at x4-2949.
