On Tuesday, November 14th (7pm, Center for Student Diversity – UU 313), join the Office of Civic Engagement and Social Responsibility and the Department of Secondary and Middle School Education, for a screening of the documentary “More Than a Word!” Be part of a Campus Conversation about sport team names such as that of the Washington, D.C. football team. “More Than a Word” uses interviews from both those in favor of changing the team name and those against, presenting a deeper analysis of the many issues surrounding it, while examining the history of Native American cultural appropriation.
