The CSD is launching a new Aftershow series this year that will provide a follow-up conversation for select programs. The goal is to provide a space for the TU community to tackle “what’s next?” in terms of moving from ideas to action, with a particular focus on enhancing the cultural capacity of our campus community. Aftershows will range from panel discussions, community conversations, or other formats that encourage us to put into practice ideas generated from the corresponding program.
Our first Aftershow program will be in response to the Fall Diversity Speaker, Hasan Minhaj, during which we will explore the relationship between comedy, humor, and social justice. How can humor be used to engage, even educate, people on current events without doing additional harm? How can we use Hasan Minhaj’s talk on campus to identify specific ways that we can work together across campus on addressing issues of equity and justice?
