OTS Training Tip of the Week
WebEx Personal Meeting Room
Did you know that you have a personal meeting room with an easy to remember link (that never changes) where you can hold meetings? Your personal room may be used to meet with your colleagues, conduct interviews and do live collaboration. This is available through WebEx – Towson’s web conferencing solution for meetings. Here’s how you get access and begin using your personal meeting room:
- Activate your host account by going to towson.edu/webex and clicking the Activate link (only have to do this once)
- From your favorite browser type towson.webex.com and click the Log In button in the upper right hand corner. Enter your NetID and Password.
- Your personal meeting room appears.
- Click Start Meeting.
- Connect to Audio using the Select Audio Connection drop-down menu (choose either Call Me, I Will Call In or Call Using Computer).
- Select your webcam from the Select Video Connection drop-down menu.
- Click the Connect Audio and Video button.
- Invite others by clicking Invite & Remind and type in their email addresses or click Copy Meeting URL (URL is towson.webex.com/join/yournetid) and paste it into an Outlook Email.
To find out more about personal meeting rooms, visit OTS Training’s support page.
Note: To begin a web conference within Blackboard or to interact with students, please use Blackboard Collaborate.
