This week, Baltimore County will begin constructing a retaining wall on the north side of Towsontown Boulevard just west of Osler Drive. The retaining wall is part of the Towsontown Boulevard road widening project which will allow for additional turn lanes from Towsontown onto Osler Drive. The road widening project is expected to be complete in October 2017. Subsequent roadwork projects will continue through March 2018.
We recommend the campus community avoid Towsontown Boulevard between Emerson Drive and University Avenue from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. this summer. Drivers and shuttle users should allow extra traveling time and consider using one of the other access routes to campus, such as Stevenson Lane, York Road or Burke Avenue. Pedestrians should consider using interior campus walkways instead of the sidewalks adjacent to Towsontown Boulevard.
We will continue to share updates and information from the county as it becomes available. For questions about the project, contact Rahee Famili, the highway design section chief for Baltimore County’s Department of Public Works, at 410-887-3739 or rjfamili@baltimorecountymd.gov.
Information on this roadwork was originally posted in December 2016 and again in May and June 2017.
