OTS Training Tip of the Week

Quickly Use Autofill in Excel

A couple of weeks back in T3, we showed you how to use the Autofill handle in Excel. It is a very powerful tool that can save you time. If you happen to be using Autofill for a large number of cells, this keyboard shortcut can save you time wasted on clicking and dragging the handle.

To utilize the keyboard shortcut vertically in a column:

  1. Select the cells where you would like to apply the Autofill. You must include the cell where you have the formula.autofill 1
  1. Press CTRL+D.autofill 2

To utilize the keyboard shortcut horizontally in a row:

  1. Select the cells where you would like to apply the Autofill. You must include the cell where you have the formula.autofill 3
  2. Press CTRL+R. autofill 4
